Jump For Toys!

Raising Hope was honored to be chosen as a 2010 sponsored charity of Concordia International School Shanghai! In September, Concordia's elementary students held a jump-a-thon called, "Jump For Toys," and collected over $9,000 in pledged donations! The high school students had a "Free Dress for Donation Day" and raised nearly $1,000! All of the money raised will be used to purchase play equipment for twelve indoor playrooms at ShangRao Orphanage in Jiangxi Province, China. The orphanage director at ShangRao expressed deep gratitude for the love and support shown by the Concordia community. Thank you, Concordia, for being a shining example of how kids can make a HUGE difference in the lives of other kids!

Halloween Fun!

Once again this year, an American family living in Shanghai, China transformed their garage into a haunted house to raise money for Raising Hope. Tommy and Harrison, along with four friends, dressed up as spooky pirates and scared those who dared tour "Haunted Pirate Island!" Through their efforts, $200 was raised to provide much needed toys and books for Shengzhou SWI, China!

No one understands the importance of play to kids better than kids themselves. Raising Hope has encountered some amazing kids who not only understand the importance of play, but who also want to share the joy it brings with other kids.

Our "Kids In Action" program was designed to recognize the efforts of ordinary kids who make an extraordinary difference in the lives of orphans by fundraising for RHI. With their parent's permission, we want to acknowledge these super kids on our website, telling the story of how they raised money for RHI to brighten the lives of kids worldwide.

If you know a kid who got into action for Raising Hope, please email Cathy O'Keeffe.
