Holt Fontana Village ~ Haiti
Raising Hope International is excited to partner with Holt International to build a playground for homeless children in care at Holt Fontana Village in Haiti! Raising Hope would like to provide the children with a fun place to play and cool off!
We are thrilled to announce that we have raised the funds to have a pavilion built in the middle space including cement floor, metal poles and roof structure with a tile roof. We will also provide a teeter-totter, a metal swing set, a giant sand box, and a mister or water feature to help cool the kids off. Check back often for updates to this project.

Peter and Shay Fontana founded the facility that in 2004 became Holt Fontana Village. In a country virtually devoid of social services and where many parents are unable to find work to support even basic human needs, children often suffer the most. Holt joined the Fontanas and began accepting children into care in late 2004, helping to develop child intake policies and childcare procedures to protect the children’s rights and encourage healthy development.
The Village has room for 30 children and new buildings are under construction. Peter Fontana, a physicist, installed state-of-the-art water purification and solar electrical systems. Holt International provides the services and is the only agency in Haiti integrating services with the intention of doing family preservation work. Holt is actively engaged in intercountry adoption for children in care.
