Dr. Patricia Burns of Florida committed to running a half-marathon in December on behalf of Raising Hope. Her goal was to raise enough pledge money to purchase bicycles for 25 orphaned children in China who will be participating in a Family Mentoring Program through Holt International. The children will use the bikes as transportation for this program, as well as to get to school.

After months of training, Dr. Burns sustained an ankle injury and was unable to participate in the half-marathon. Knowing how important it was to Dr. Burns to reach her goal, her good friend and training partner, Kim, ran the half-marathon in her honor! Through their combined efforts, Raising Hope was able to purchase bicycles for all 25 children. What a team! All of us at Raising Hope offer a big THANK YOU to both of them!
